~ My Name Is You ~

As I lay in bed with thoughts of various distressing situations in my life running through my head, my thoughts turned to my next door neighbor - who killed his son in a car accident. I thought about that for a moment.

My mind then drifted to the neighbors on the other side of our house, who were elderly and moving away to be closer to family - the circle of life, I guess... But we were going to miss them dearly.

Thoughts began coming of friends and family who have recently lost loved ones, others who may soon lose loved ones - to old age, or illness.

Co-workers entering their next phase of life after children have grown and moved out - what will they do with themselves now?

Visions of people I care about struggling with divorce, debt, addictions.

And then I had the feeling that, Hm - we're all in this together. We're in the same boat.

Most of us don't have it any more figured out than the next person. Many adults still wonder what they'd like to do for a living, or how to be happy.

The ones who appear to have it more figured out have been blessed to learn to work with their emotions well, to have found their faith, or to choose the outlook they're going to have in life. Yet they are still never exempt from pain and hurting.

In the end, we're really not all that much different. Anyone remember the song from Sesame Street - "We All Sing With the Same Voice"...? It's one of my favorites, and it's true. On some level we're all the same. In the same boat. Find it, listen to it...

My name is - You.

Newton's First Law... Revisited!

“An object either remains at rest or continues to move at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by an external force.”

Yup, I’m taking us back to high school physics.  Do you recognize this?  It’s Newton’s First Law of Motion. Back then, we memorized this law so we could pass a quiz.  Now, with over a decade of life experience under our belts, it’s worth stopping for a moment to think about the essence of this law once again, not as to how it relates to protons, electrons and neutrons, but in terms of how it determines the course of our life, our achievements, and our relationships.

We determine the trajectory of our life with our type and level of energy every day.   Yes, I know you’re saying, “Duh, Sunny!”  -But I’m serious.  We will keep going up, down, or remain in the same place based on this most integral ingredient in our lives: our energy

We can all visualize a downward trajectory... but erase that… and visualize an upward one.  Keep this image of a positive life-course in your mind, and consider how you can very easily lift your life’s path to slope upwards and continue in this direction by using your indefatigable, undeterred positive energy as the external force.

The beauty of causing this upward-trending trajectory?  Positive inertia.  The more we engage in creative projects, the more we will continue to do so.  The more we focus on health in our diets and lives, the easier it becomes to continue with our healthy habits.  The more we focus on the positive characteristics of our loved ones, the more we will see and experience these positive aspects in our relationships.

So begin.  Now.  Silence any opposition that your mind may raise, dive into your inner ocean of positive energy, and change the course of your life.

-You’ll see… Newton was right :)

REAR-ENDINGS...!!

Okay, so after being rear-ended not once, but TWICE in the span of just two weeks, I began to ponder what the hell lesson this is supposed to be teaching me...

Was I traveling too fast, do I need to slow down?
- No
Am I supposed to get up off my Rear-End and exercise more??
- No. Well maybe...:)

Sunny and I even asked some of our friends their thoughts on the incidences and got responses such as:

Stop Driving!
and
Make sure your brake lights are working.

No, that's not it either. Then I thought maybe this was my opportunity to STOP reading into things so much!!

And then my Ah-Ha moment.

Rear-Endings.
Things end.
However so many times, we don't let them. We keep dragging them out in our minds forever, never fully giving closure to something in our past, and it prevents us from moving forward completely. Without that weight slowing us down.

It can take forever and a day to actually accomplish this sometimes, but the possibility is always there. Let go! Put the past in your rear!

Today I celebrate Rear-Endings...

~ H A P P Y ~

Sunny & Erin set out to do an experiment. We decided to keep our eyes peeled for anything around us that was an example of Happiness. We found things!

First of all, it's SPRING in New England... How happy is that!!! With it comes the singing of birds and people outside enjoying all types of activities we've been deprived of for so long. We saw so many people walking outside SMILING - vs. fighting the wind or cold.

Examples include a young father walking along holding his little baby boy - smiling. An ordinary couple walking and holding hands, pointing out something in a store front - smiling. A man in his car with the windows down, reading something on his cell phone - smiling. Someone in their car at a red light, enthusiastically drumming on their dashboard. The list goes on.

This isn't about weather, as many of us enjoy the snow. What it's about is that when you look for something, you find it. We set out to look for happy, and we found happy.

What we noticed too, is with seeing happy things, we smiled a little more ourselves. Then with smiling more, we noticed that WE were just a slight bit happier.

Take notice of your face at various times through the day. Try curling up the edge of your lips just ever so slightly. Not so much so that you look like you're sitting there smiling for no reason (although that's really funny too, and it makes people wonder. So actually, go ahead and do that too!), but just ever so slightly so that you can feel a lift in your spirit.

Cheers - to these first moments of glorious Spring, and to finding what you are looking for...!

Everything As Hilarity

There may be many posts with this title, as it plays such a large part in everything we do... To begin this blog, we'd like to share with you a little skit which describes our outlook quite succinctly. I just don't think we could have acted this out better ourselves. 3CF Making the Most of It!!!!!
